In 2018, City of Boca Raton engaged CherryRoad Technologies to implement Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial application for the municipal finance organization and statutory reporting requirements. The engagement was scoped to support Comprehensive Annual Financial Report preparation and compliance with GASB reporting rules for city finance operations.
CherryRoad redesigned the Chart of Accounts and hierarchies, and configured Primary and Secondary Ledgers, a Ledger Set, Fixed Assets Books for corporate and tax accounting, Budgets, Leases, General Ledger and Encumbrance Accounting within Oracle Cloud ERP. Accounting and process flows were designed and configured for Primary and Secondary Ledgers, Accounts Payable, Projects, Sub Ledger Accounting and Fixed Assets to align transaction posting, encumbrance workflows and GASB-driven subledger reconciliation.
The engagement produced a systems architecture and an Accounts Receivable process and integration plan that specified required inbound and outbound interfaces and which current systems to continue or sunset. Architecture deliverables included bank integrations and orchestration with Oracle Cash Management, AP and GL interfaces, and coordination with the Hyperion team. Data conversion work included extraction, mapping, validation and reconciliation of opening and historical GL balances, Fixed Assets and Budgets into Oracle across Test, Dev, SIT and PROD instances.
Project governance covered iterative requirements gatherings, solution design workshops, mappings, prototypes, conference room pilots, demos and formal test script development. CherryRoad led meetings with the Finance Director, business leads and users for knowledge transfer, training and documentation, and delivered detailed training manuals, test scripts with screenshots and process flows. The engagement included time and effort estimations schedules and team coordination led by Venkat Paruchuri as Lead Consultant.

Data migration and master data governance were part of the implementation scope, managed alongside configuration and testing by CherryRoad Technologies.
Governance and rollout followed staged configuration and training cycles to align with municipal operating rhythms, embedding approval workflows and documented HR process changes into day to day operations. Oracle Cloud HCM served as the system of record for Core HR functions and supported ongoing HR process orchestration across the municipality.
