Workday Legacy Workday HCM Core HR HCM Precision Task Group 2020 2020
In 2020, City of Dallas, TX deployed Workday HCM as its Core HR system to standardize human resources functions across the municipal workforce of approximately 14,994 employees. The deployment positioned Workday HCM as the central Human Resources application for employee lifecycle management and current employee resources, with links to Workday and Workday Hub available to staff via the city intranet. Configuration emphasized Core HR capabilities aligned to municipal HR needs, including Benefits administration, Talent Acquisition workflows, and Compensation & Classification management, with the HRIS & HR Consulting team responsible for ongoing configuration and enhancements. Workday HCM was provisioned to support employee self service and manager self service use cases, and the implementation included configuration of standard onboarding, benefits enrollment, and compensation workflows consistent with Core HR functional patterns. The implementation integrated Workday access with City of Dallas login credentials to control access, and employees are directed to Workday and Workday Hub using city authentication for sign on. The project engaged Precision Task Group as the system integrator for implementation services, and operational access points include published HRIS contacts and a dedicated Workday Questions line for city employees to route issues and inquiries. Governance and operational ownership rest with the Human Resources Information Systems team, led by Assistant Director Tomy Mollas, with HRIS managing technology ownership, service contacts, and links to employee resources. The HRIS team provides ongoing HR technology stewardship, user access control, and a central support channel, aligning Workday HCM in Core HR to existing HR service and consulting functions.
