Aptean Legacy Aptean SouthWare ERP ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2005 2005
In 2005 City of Springfield, FL implemented Aptean SouthWare ERP as an ERP to centralize municipal accounting and payment workflows for the small municipal finance office. The Finance Director between 2005 and 2008 performed all accounting activities using Aptean SouthWare ERP together with MainStreet Software, establishing the system as the core finance application for daily ledger maintenance and citizen payments. Aptean SouthWare ERP was used to support standard municipal finance functions including general ledger entries, bank account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting and audit support, and production of end of month financial reports for the City Commission. Configuration and operational use emphasized month end close procedures, routine reconciliations and budget review cycles consistent with public sector accounting practices. Operational coverage focused on the finance department and front desk operations, where staff accepted payments and handled customer inquiries, and extended to vendor-facing accounts receivable and payable workflows. Governance and process responsibilities rested with the Finance Director who reconciled bank accounts, managed GL and budget activities, coordinated audit reviews, acted as supervisor in the City Clerk’s absence and produced the commission financial reports, with Aptean SouthWare ERP and MainStreet Software supporting these structured workflows.
