In 2014, City of Tempe implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform, migrating from Oracle PeopleSoft ERP to centralize municipal finance and procurement activities. The deployment positioned Oracle E-Business Suite as the system of record for accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger workflows across city finance teams.
The implementation included core modules AR, AP, GL, OE, PO, INV, BOM, WMS and iSupplier, configured to support transaction processing, inventory valuation and supplier collaboration. Project work delivered a bespoke meter inventory tracking capability built inside the inventory and WMS footprint, aligning meter asset records with transactional modules.
Integrations were delivered through an XML data interface to third party systems, enabling automated exchanges of inventory and meter data with external service providers. Operational scope focused on finance, procurement and asset management functions within municipal operations, with Oracle E-Business Suite serving as the central ERP Financial system for those business functions.
During implementation teams identified discrepancies in existing application code and performed a targeted rewrite to correct functional issues and align transactional behavior with municipal requirements. The code remediation effort was executed alongside module configuration to ensure the deployed Oracle E-Business Suite environment supported intended workflows without unresolved defects.
