In 2012, Cochlear, Ltd. implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as an ERP Financial application. The work focused on establishing the Oracle R12 database as the authoritative transactional store for finance reporting and operational financial workflows.
The implementation included development and maintenance of SAP BOXI 3.1 webi reports and universes to provide financial intelligence and operational reporting for finance teams. Activities included creating new reports, modifying existing webi reports, troubleshooting data quality issues, resolving universe issues and modifying existing universes, aligning the reporting layer with Oracle E-Business Suite data structures.
A key technical deliverable was the managed migration of 250 reports and 40 universes to the new Oracle R12 database using SAP Lifecycle Manager, with verification and testing to ensure reports and universes returned correct results against the Oracle R12 schema. This established an integration pattern between the SAP BOXI reporting stack and the Oracle E-Business Suite transactional database for consolidated financial reporting.
Operationally the program provided global support and training for the existing customer base, and ongoing issue tracking and remediation using JIRA. Governance centered on report validation, universe remediation and defect management workflows, with testing and verification gates before report promotion to production.

In 2012 Cochlear, Ltd. led a global review of its Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS, targeting Core HR to refine, simplify, and automate people processes. The review was explicitly aimed at creating global consistency and ensuring data integrity across the company’s people data and HR workflows.
Workstreams centered on configuring Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS functional components aligned with Core HR, including employee master data, position and job structures, absence and time event administration, and workflow-driven approvals. Automation and data validation rules were introduced to reduce manual entry and enforce a single source of truth for HR attributes, while configuration activity emphasized standardized data models and role-based access controls.
Governance changes accompanied the technical work, with new process standards and approval flows defined to align HR operations and business units globally. The effort prioritized process simplification, automation of routine HR transactions, and controls within Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS to sustain data integrity and consistent operational procedures across regions.

In 2018, Cochlear, Ltd. implemented SAP Enterprise Asset Management. The deployment established SAP Enterprise Asset Management as the Enterprise Asset Management platform to manage asset lifecycle and maintenance operations across Cochlear manufacturing and service functions.
The implementation configured core EAM functional areas including asset master data management, preventive maintenance planning, work order management, spare parts and inventory planning, and maintenance scheduling with mobile-enabled work execution support. Configuration work followed SAP Enterprise Asset Management functional patterns for maintenance notifications, planning buckets, and work order lifecycles to standardize maintenance execution and asset recordkeeping.
Operational integration was executed within the SAP application landscape, aligning asset financials and procurement flows with maintenance transactions to ensure asset cost visibility and parts replenishment. Governance was structured around role based access for maintenance planners, technicians, and asset managers, with defined maintenance SOP workflows and change control for asset master updates. Cochlear engaged an SAP EAM Functional Consultant from Feb 2025 to present on a hybrid contract in Sydney to support ongoing configuration, optimization, and operational support for SAP Enterprise Asset Management.
