Operational coverage targeted Colliers' talent acquisition function and hiring managers, with role-based access controls and centralized applicant records to consolidate recruiting activity.

In 2008, Colliers implemented Sage 300CRE (ex Timberline) as its Construction ERP during a broader engagement to stabilize the companys IT and telecommunications environment. The deployment aligned the Sage 300CRE (ex Timberline) application with Colliers core accounting and transaction workflows and served as a central accounting ledger within a multi-database estate supporting commercial real estate operations.
The implementation combined accounting, transaction management, and reporting capabilities, and extended functionality through bespoke development. Colliers developed a custom transaction application, a comps application, and a rebuilt reporting portfolio that fed a new data warehouse, and broker-facing web solutions built with PHP, JavaScript, and ASP that increased response rates significantly. The data warehouse consolidated the custom transaction store with three accounting databases, improving centralized reporting and portfolio analytics across financial and property management workflows.
Architecturally the environment was heterogeneous, spanning Windows, Citrix, and Linux servers with hosted VoIP services. Virtualization technologies deployed included Hyper-V, VMware, and Citrix Xen, with Colliers moving to standardize on VMware. The implementation integrated Sage 300CRE (ex Timberline) alongside other estate systems explicitly present in the environment, including Yardi, MRI, Kardin, Pervasive, MS SQL, MySQL, Microsoft Exchange and Office365, SharePoint, Salesforce, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, enabling cross-system reporting and transaction reconciliation.
Governance and operational controls were formalized to support the new application footprint and ongoing rollouts. Controls included end user security training, file access monitoring tools, intrusion detection systems, enhanced antivirus solutions, restrictive firewall policies, and backup via Infrascale. The IT team also formalized geographic information systems capabilities with dedicated staff, software, and hardware, and managed frequent lifecycle events including openings, closures, divestments, and acquisitions of offices and affiliated companies.
Contract and cost management workstreams were executed in parallel, with technology contract renegotiations that realized significant savings. Colliers also researched and implemented VoIP services and standardized administrative tooling, which contributed to operational consolidation across the Construction ERP landscape.
