Tyler Technologies IBM AS/400 Tyler Infinite Visions Education ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2009 2009
In 2009, Columbus Public Schools implemented Tyler Infinite Visions as its Education ERP. The district implemented the system as a migration from IBM AS/400 to centralize school business processes across a K-12 footprint that includes five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school, serving approximately 3,700 students and about 500 certified and classified employees. The implementation focused on finance and administrative functional modules, with explicit workstreams for Payroll, Accounts Payable and Human Resources. Project leadership worked directly with Payroll, Accounts Payable, Human Resources and the Business Manager to coordinate data conversion, validation, testing and cutover activities related to these modules. Infrastructure and endpoint management supporting Tyler Infinite Visions included an estate of roughly 40 servers running Windows Server 2003 and 2008 and OS X, 1,500 client computers on OS X, Windows XP and Windows 7, and 550 Apple iPads. Directory and configuration services were implemented as Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, and Windows DHCP and DNS, with ADDS and Group Policy integrated to OS X LDAP; Roaming Profiles were enabled for district-wide access to student and staff data, and a Web Helpdesk system was implemented to manage IT work orders during rollout and ongoing operations. Operational coverage for the Tyler Infinite Visions deployment was district-wide across all seven schools and was managed by district IT staff and the designated project manager. Columbus Public Schools positioned Tyler Infinite Visions as the central Education ERP supporting payroll administration, accounts payable workflows and HR recordkeeping for the district.
