In 2018, Conad del Tirreno implemented Sailing Arete, a SaaS Point Of Sale and customer-experience platform from Sailing. The deployment targeted Conad del Tirreno's Italian store network, delivering in-region Point Of Sale services across approximately 350 stores in Italy. VAR Group served as the implementation partner for the rollout.
The implementation used Aretè Front Office / XPos and Customer features to enable real-time POS processing, centralized promotions management and click&collect order handling. The SaaS architecture centralized promotional orchestration while XPos devices at store level handled omnichannel checkout and self-service interactions. Functional coverage included checkout operations, promotions configuration, in-store customer engagement and click&collect fulfillment workflows.
Operational governance consolidated promotion configuration and checkout rules into a centralized management layer to maintain consistency across sites, with store-level XPos endpoints enforcing standardized policies. Rollout was executed as a regional SaaS provisioning campaign across Conad del Tirreno stores in Italy, coordinated with VAR Group. The deployment delivered omnichannel checkout, self-service and centralized promo management across about 350 stores.

In 2017, Conad Nord Ovest Italy implemented Di.Tech Analytics. Di.Tech Analytics was provisioned as a Data Warehouse to consolidate point of sale, promotion and loyalty datasets for enterprise reporting and category decision support.
The implementation focused on core data warehouse capabilities, including batch and near real time ingestion, ETL pipelines, a dimensional data model for sales and promotions, and a reporting layer exposing subject area marts for marketing and category management. Di.Tech Analytics was configured to support promotional effectiveness analysis and to feed standardized dashboards and BI queries used by merchandising and store operations.
Architecturally the deployment was designed to centralize retail data from stores and corporate systems into a single Data Warehouse instance, with an emphasis on structured cleansing, timestamped promotion records, and schema versions to support campaign attribution. The design aligns with Di.Tech Promoject promotional planning constructs publicized in Conad Adriatico projects, enabling consistent mapping between promotional planning artifacts and analytical fact tables when promotional planning systems are present.
Operational scope included marketing, category management and merchandising teams, with data governance processes introduced to enforce master data consistency and reporting rules. Governance covered data stewardship, access controls, and release cadences for new promotional schemas and dashboards, enabling standardized workflows for campaign measurement and cross-functional analytics.
