Governance practices included process review, internal controls assessment, audit stakeholder engagement and project management oversight, with payroll leadership responsible for data integrity, risk identification and stakeholder management. Workflows were restructured to formalize handoffs between finance and HR for tax year end, benefits accounting and payroll related reconciliations. The program of system implementation and process review supported audit readiness and the broader transformation activities executed by the payroll and finance teams, including the onshoring of payroll and migration of payroll to Zellis ResourceLink. The system also hosted audit and compliance reporting routines used to validate fee charging against company policy and the tenant fees act. Operationally the implementation supported client accounts coordinators and branch managers who uploaded and validated property, landlord and tenant details in the Veco system on a daily basis, produced landlord statements, and reconciled rental income and unallocated cash balances. Daily operational integrations documented in practice included import of the daily bank statement into Veco and execution of BACS and cheque payment runs, while branch coordination and exception resolution used Microsoft Outlook as a communication channel. Governance and process changes centered on weekly audit reporting to surface fee and invoicing anomalies, reconciliations to clear unallocated cash to target levels, and standardization of workflows for raising and amending fees, processing deposits and responding to landlord and tenant requests. These controls and workflows established Veco Plus Client Accounting as the primary system of record for client accounts within Connells Group's Real Estate Property Management operations.
