In 2023 Consolidated Edison implemented Oracle Cloud ERP within its Finance and Accounting organization, marking a migration from Oracle E-Business Suite to a cloud-native ERP Financial environment. The deployment is centered on Oracle Cloud ERP for finance functions and was scoped to support the companys corporate finance teams with site-level operational support in Valhalla, NY and broader enterprise financial processes.
The implementation emphasized core Oracle Financials and EPM capabilities consistent with an ERP Financial rollout, including general ledger orchestration, accounts payable and receivable processing, fixed asset accounting and financial reporting automation. Configuration work included package/module installation, routine and major upgrades, customization through scripting and Groovy where applicable, and extensive end-to-end testing driven by formal test plans to support unit, integration and system testing and user acceptance testing.
Integration architecture relied on existing middleware and integration patterns identified in support skills, using Tibco BusinessWorks, WebServices and SOAP for system-to-system connectivity, and database administration spanning Oracle 12c and Microsoft SQLServer platforms. Ancillary systems referenced in operational skills such as PeopleSoft 9.2 and Deltek Vision 7.6 were part of the broader integration surface, with BI Publisher and enterprise reporting components supporting financial outputs and regulatory reporting requirements.
Governance and operational processes were structured around the product development life cycle, with the Senior Systems Analyst role responsible for gathering requirements, drafting functional scope and specifications, coordinating UAT and taking a leadership role in SDLC task completion. Ongoing operational responsibilities included troubleshooting production issues, performing upgrades, maintaining application integration components and database administration, plus supporting off-hours maintenance windows to sustain continuous financial operations.

In 2023, Consolidated Edison began implementation of Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management as part of a broader Oracle HCM Cloud program. The project includes an explicit Absence and Leave Management deployment and is being delivered alongside modules for HR self-service transactions, recruiting and onboarding, benefits, HR help desk, payroll, and time and labor.
The technical scope positions Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management within a phased rollout, with Phase 1 and 3A targeted for go-live in July 2024. Configuration workstreams focus on standard absence entitlement and leave workflows, time and labor interfacing for hours capture, and employee self-service absence requests, while analytics capabilities will be centralized by replacing the existing Employee Data Warehouse with Oracle Analytics Cloud.
Integrations and platform transitions are defined across subsequent waves, with later phases 2 and 3B planned to replace SuccessFactors for performance management, PeopleFluent for compensation, and eTrain for learning administration. The project team has engaged Oracle as the system integrator, and IT Business Systems Delivery is coordinating technical integration tasks with Human Resource and Learning & Inclusion Support owning business process changes and functional requirements.
Governance and testing have been formalized, with a designated Test Lead overseeing daily test planning, execution, defect review, and status reporting. Test artifacts and conversion validation are being recorded in Azure DevOps, testing schedules are prioritized with the Development Lead, system change requests are reviewed as part of structured defect and test meetings, and weekly status updates are provided to project management to maintain rollout discipline.
