In 2017, Cotiviti implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP to centralize core finance operations under the ERP Financial category. The rollout was driven by the corporate finance organization and aligned to support billing, pricing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, payroll, general accounting, technical accounting and financial reporting functions across the finance organization.
Configuration work focused on standardizing record structures and transactional workflows for billing and AR/AP, embedding pricing controls and cost accounting logic, and instrumenting month-end and rolling forecast processes such as monthly actuals reporting, a six-quarter rolling forecast and annual budgeting. Oracle NetSuite ERP was configured to support FP&A deliverables and to formalize financial reporting workflows used in board and investor presentations.
The implementation included explicit integrations with Avidxchange for AP automation, UltiPro for HRM and payroll data, Avatax for tax calculation, and Celigo for integration orchestration, together with establishment of new bank connections. Operational coverage centered on the corporate finance team of more than 25 finance professionals and extended to interactions with CEO, COO and senior revenue and product stakeholders, supporting a finance-led carve-out and standalone operating model.
Governance changes included strengthened technical accounting controls, defined audit-ready opening balance processes and coordination protocols with external auditors and banks. Processes were restructured to support purchase price allocation and opening balance sheet adjustments, and to ensure auditable trails for period close and statutory reporting.
The project produced a successful first-year audit outcome, including completed purchase price allocation, opening balance sheet adjustments and a stub period audit, and enabled ongoing development of financial reporting and technical accounting capabilities within the finance function. Oracle NetSuite ERP continues to serve as the system of record for Cotiviti finance under the ERP Financial category.
