Configuration and modules included payroll processing, starter and leaver management with starter checklists and automated P45 generation, statutory pay calculations for SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP, and manual ad hoc payment handling. The system also covered auto enrolment administration and pension scheme workflows for USS, LGPS and TP, reflecting the university's pension obligations. MHR Strategic HR provided the functional orchestration for these capabilities within the Core HR category.
Operationally the system was operated by a team assigned to client groups that handled monthly and mid month payroll cycles and associated HR tasks, indicating centralized payroll operations and documented onboarding workflows. Governance relied on checklist driven processes for starters and leavers and standard statutory pay calculations to ensure compliance with UK payroll rules. Use of iTrent as part of the integrated HR system indicates end to end integration between HR records and transactional payroll and pension administration.
