| Akamai | Legacy | Akamai Connected Cloud | Application Hosting and Computing Services | IaaS | n/a | 2020 | 2020 | In 2020, Craftsman Collision implemented Akamai Connected Cloud, Apps Category . The engagement began as a pro bono SEO and Linux consulting engagement in North Vancouver, BC from June 2020 to July 2021, where the consultant analyzed why store locator pages were not appearing on Google Search and advised the internal SEO and IT team on performance and visibility improvements. The implementation created a subdomain per store location and used an NGINX reverse proxy layer to surface each location's WordPress locator page, the reverse proxy was hosted on Ubuntu 20.04 instances running on Linode and managed with Certbot for TLS. The team generated dynamic sitemap.xml files for each subdomain and developed a Bash script to automate creation and lifecycle management of NGINX reverse proxy configurations, aligning web server configuration with search engine indexing workflows. Akamai Connected Cloud was provisioned as the customer-facing cloud application while integrations in scope included WordPress for site content, Google Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics for search and traffic validation, and system-level tooling on Ubuntu and Linode for hosting and certificate automation. Operational ownership spanned the Craftsman Collision SEO and IT teams, the rollout targeted store-level locator pages across the site, and the stated outcome was increased visibility of locator pages on Google Search as a result of the subdomain and sitemap approach. | |
