Alight Solutions Legacy Alight Benefits Administration Benefits Administration HCM n/a 2023 2023
In 2023, Crane NXT deployed Alight Benefits Administration to centralize Benefits Administration and standardize US benefits operations within its HR organization. The implementation was scoped to support benefits administration workflows for a manufacturing employer with approximately 4000 employees, positioning Alight Benefits Administration as the primary system for benefits enrollment and life cycle management supporting HR and benefits teams. The configuration work emphasized core Benefits Administration capabilities, including enrollment and eligibility rule setup, open enrollment workflow orchestration, life event processing, and plan and vendor configuration. Configuration, testing, and release management were executed by the internal HRIS function, with the Senior HRIS Analyst acting as the functional and technical subject matter expert to lead documentation, test plans, and BU specific configuration adjustments. Integration work explicitly included downstream interfaces to payroll and benefits ecosystems, with connections to Vanguard for US 401k, ADP for US payroll, CSI Stars for service anniversaries, and Schwab for equity programs. Alight Benefits Administration was implemented to exchange benefits data with existing HR platforms, and interface development and testing were performed in both PeopleSoft and UKG to ensure end to end data flows and scheduled feeds across HRIS environments. Operational governance centered on HR application support, tier 2 incident handling via SharePoint ticketing, and ongoing reporting and analytics using PS Query and UKG Cognos BI. The deployment was embedded in broader HR technology governance, with responsibilities for release management, interface lifecycle, BU training documentation, and an HR Technology Roadmap that includes RFP activity for future HRIS and ATS decisions.
