In 2019, CRM Trading upgraded to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018 as an ERP Financial implementation to consolidate its accounting and tax reporting for a UK-based distribution business. CRM Trading is a 55-employee wholesaler of fragrance, skincare, cosmetics, and hair-care, and the Microsoft Dynamics NAV deployment was scoped to address finance processing bottlenecks and compliance requirements.
The implementation centralized the whole financial process inside Microsoft Dynamics NAV, configuring ledger management, transaction processing, user setup workflows, and employee ledger maintenance. Dynamics Square configured Business Intelligence capabilities within NAV 2018 to provide near real-time insights and to support operational decision workflows, and the solution enabled one-click opening of ledgers and robust data export routines.
Integrations implemented as part of the program included embedding Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Excel with Microsoft Dynamics NAV to enable report sharing and bulk data exports. The NAV 2018 setup was aligned to support Making Tax Digital submissions to HMRC, thereby covering statutory tax reporting for CRM Trading's UK finance operations. Operational coverage focused on finance and support ticket handling, improving the timeliness of invoicing and customer communications through email distribution of tax invoices and reports.
Dynamics Square led the upgrade from Dynamics NAV 2009 to NAV 2018 and guided governance changes, training, and BI adoption to improve support ticket measurement and process visibility. Post rollout the client reported resolution of ledger performance issues, error-free Excel exports, instant report sharing via Office 365, and the ability to submit MTD returns to HMRC, all delivered within the Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP Financial configuration.
