In 2024, Crowley Care Services implemented Sandwai as its Home Care Management application to centralize rostering and client care operations. The deployment followed the retirement of Telstra Health software on 1 April 2024, and Crowley Home Care delivered training and IT support to staff to stabilize the cutover.
Sandwai was configured to manage core Home Care Management functions including staff rostering, client records and documentation, medication and preference tracking, real time status updates from mobile devices, and operational reporting. The implementation emphasizes mobile-first workflows so staff update client status and report changes in condition in real time, enabling Case Officers and the Clinical Team to triage issues more quickly as part of standard care coordination.
Integrations explicitly in use include automated travel allocation based on Google Maps for route and ETA calculations, and the platform is supported by Sandwai as an Australian based vendor currently developing a client-facing mobile app. Operational coverage centers on the Crowley Home Care team, care staff, Case Officers and the Clinical Team, with published staff rosters released two weeks in advance and clients and carers notified of schedule and staff assignments through the new system.
Governance and workflow changes were codified during rollout, including the two-week published rostering policy, guidance that staff may arrive five to ten minutes outside commencement times due to automated travel calculations, and a client change request process routed through Case Officers for permanent schedule changes. Crowley reports that Sandwai helps roster and keep track of people served, supports access to support plans and medical history, and offers robust reporting features for service insight, while a client app is planned to improve real time visibility for clients and carers.
