AvidXchange Legacy AvidStrongroom AP Automation ERP Financial Management n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Cumulus Media implemented AvidStrongroom as its AP Automation platform to centralize accounts payable processing for corporate finance and market accounting teams. The deployment served corporate accounting for 12 radio markets, supporting invoice intake, approval routing, payment request handling and structured reconciliation workflows for market-level expense activity. AvidStrongroom was configured to deliver core AP Automation capabilities, including invoice capture and validation, configurable approval workflows, a check request portal and reconciliation support for purchase card activity. Approval thresholds and routing rules were aligned to existing operational controls, with check requests under $2,000 processed through the AVID AP Expert software portal and invoice exceptions routed to accounting for manual resolution. Operationally, accounts payable activity processed through AvidStrongroom was reconciled against general ledger entries maintained in Microsoft Great Plains, with staff accountants responsible for entering journal entries and completing monthly and quarterly balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations. The implementation covered review and reconciliation of monthly American Express purchase card charges and supported comparative variance analysis used by the corporate accounting team for reporting. Governance was centered on centralized approval controls and month end cadence, with accounting personnel completing month end close responsibilities by the fifth business day of each period. Approval stewardship and reconciliation ownership remained with corporate accounting for corporate-level charges and with market finance teams for market-level expenses, preserving audit trails and controls within the AvidStrongroom AP Automation environment.

Workday Legacy Workday Absence Management Absence and Leave Management HCM n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Cumulus Media implemented Workday Absence Management to extend its Workday ERP platform and centralize leave administration across the enterprise. The project was executed as part of Global HR System configuration and targeted the Absence and Leave Management category to standardize absence policies and administrative workflows supporting HR, benefits and timekeeping functions. The Certified Workday Administrator based at corporate headquarters in Atlanta was assigned ownership of configuration, ongoing administration and platform enhancements, reporting to the Director of Business Systems. Configuration activities included defining absence plans, accrual logic, eligibility rules and absence request workflows, along with business process configuration and security role design across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Reporting, Time, Absence and Expense modules. The team focused on automation for approval routing and employee self service absence requests, developing predefined and ad hoc reporting capabilities, and executing structured system testing and stabilization. Work included data transformation work such as XML and XSLT to support integrations and reporting needs. Operational integration responsibilities encompassed maintaining and developing Workday integrations to ensure absence data consistency with payroll, timekeeping, benefits administration and employee self service portals. The implementation covered Global HR operational scope and involved training company personnel to generate reports and manage day to day absence administration. Collaboration with Internal Audit was part of the program to document system and process controls relevant to legal and SOX compliance. Governance was formalized through business process ownership, security configuration and a full project lifecycle that followed initiation, planning, analysis, design, build, test, train, deploy and stabilization phases. Workday Absence Management was positioned to support HR and payroll business functions, consolidate absence workflows and embed reporting capabilities within the Absence and Leave Management domain. The deployment emphasized platform stewardship, process documentation and end user training to sustain ongoing operations.
