In 2020, Curtis Lumber implemented ECI Spruce as its Distribution ERP to unify business management across 22 locations serving Central, Eastern, and Northern New York and Vermont. The deployment focused on providing a single cloud based application platform that consolidates inventory, purchasing, receiving, point of sale, and accounting functions into one business management system.
ECI Spruce was configured to leverage inventory management capabilities including min max stocking logic and inventory flow tracking from purchase order creation through receiving to store shelf allocation. The implementation included integrated accounting and document management, electronic invoicing, and credit card processing to reduce paper handling and to make transactional documents accessible to accounting, sales, and collections teams.
Operational coverage extended across Curtis Lumber retail locations, design showrooms, and distribution operations to provide a single source of truth for sales, inventory, purchasing, and receivables. Data entry was centralized so information entered once flows automatically to dependent modules and departments, supporting reporting and dashboarding needs through Spruce’s open data architecture.
Governance and rollout emphasized standardizing on one software so all employees learn and use the same system, reducing duplicate data entry and improving interdepartmental communication. Explicit outcomes described in the deployment include reduced paper statement volume, integrated inventory and accounting processes that save time, and improved visibility into receivables and stock positioning across the company.
