MeridianLink Legacy TazWorks BackGround Screening HCM n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, Data Quest implemented TazWorks to standardize BackGround Screening across its operations. The deployment targeted employment and tenant screening workflows at Data Quest Ltd, a 20 employee professional services firm based in New Bedford, MA with hybrid work arrangements. TazWorks was configured to manage order intake and report generation for employment and tenant background screening, to support investigative research case management, skip tracing, and social media screening workflows, and to centralize the Court Document Research Division that became the company’s flagship service. Configuration work included applicant authorization and disclosure templates, document storage, and adjudication workflows to produce over 1.5k screening reports per year. The implementation used a cloud hosted TazWorks instance to centralize screening activities and align with hybrid operations, providing a single operational system for the background screening team, HR onboarding and exit processes, and investigative analysts. Operational coverage explicitly included the background screening team and the Court Document Research Division, and supported client services interactions that drove repeat and referral business. Governance and process design were embedded within TazWorks, with release and authorization forms, disclosures, adverse action and action letter workflows, and record keeping to enforce compliance with ADA, EEO, FCRA, GDPR, GLBA, and DPPA. Internal controls also extended to employment paperwork management and staff training, formalizing workload prioritization and candidate intake procedures. As documented in company records Data Quest reported conducting more than 1.5k employment and tenant screening reports per year and achieved a 31.66 percent increase in sales through training and operational optimization tied to the TazWorks deployment. The platform supported timely Investigative Research and Due Diligence reporting, and accelerated Massachusetts state mandated screening through the Court Document Research Division.
