| SAP | Legacy | SAP Business ByDesign | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017 De La Rue implemented SAP Business ByDesign as part of a global finance transformation, deploying the cloud application to centralize core finance processes. SAP Business ByDesign is positioned as an ERP Financial system and was configured to support cross-functional finance workflows across the program.
The implementation work focused on data migration and configuration support, fixed asset and project setup, and business role and user access rights configuration. Project activities explicitly included authorisation matrix maintenance, material parts setup and validation, and development of Excel interface reporting alongside ByD custom reporting capabilities.
Integration work covered legacy system interfaces and reconciliations, and the project provided reconciled transactional flows to support P2P and O2C teams. The cloud architecture reduced on premise orchestration, while custom reporting and Excel interfaces were used to bridge operational systems and the SAP Business ByDesign instance during cutover and stabilization.
Governance and operational readiness included maintenance of the authorisation matrix, formalised business roles and access controls, process and procedure improvements, and training and knowledge transfer to finance, procurement and order to cash users. Ongoing support activities noted direct team query support, general problem solving and handover to operational teams based out of Basingstoke as part of the global rollout.

| Sage | Legacy | Sage People (ex Fairsail) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, De La Rue implemented Sage People (ex Fairsail) as its Core HR platform, initiating an HRIS programme led to deliver a step change in system, process, and services from HR. The programme concurrently delivered and implemented Optamor RPO and the Mitrefinch Time and attendance system, positioning Sage People as the central Core HR application for HR, recruitment intake, and time capture workflows.
The Sage People (ex Fairsail) deployment concentrated on core HR capabilities typical of the Core HR category, including centralized employee master data, organizational and position management, onboarding and offboarding workflows, absence and time-related records, and workforce reporting and configurable HR workflows. Configuration emphasized role based security and cloud HRIS controls to unify global personnel records and standardize HR transaction processing across sites.
Integrations were explicitly scoped to connect Sage People with Optamor RPO for recruitment process outsourcing coordination, and with Mitrefinch for time and attendance data consolidation, enabling a single employee record to reflect hiring and time capture events. The implementation covered global operational sites including the USA, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Malta, and the UK, aligning recruitment, timekeeping, and core HR processes under the Sage People application.
Governance was managed through the HRIS Programme lead, with programme level oversight to standardize HR processes and services, coordinate the global rollout, and align HR operating model changes with system configuration. Rollout and adoption emphasis focused on unifying HR service delivery across regions and integrating recruitment and time systems into the new Core HR platform.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP BW (Business Warehouse) | Data Warehouse | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 De La Rue provisioned SAP BW (Business Warehouse) as a Data Warehouse to centralize finance reporting, data loads and master data continuity across its finance environment. SAP BW (Business Warehouse) was operated as the core finance data repository and managed by the in-house finance systems team, providing second line troubleshooting and training to business users to ensure operational coverage during month end and year end cycles.
The implementation scope emphasized BW data load orchestration, master data management and support for SAP BPC reporting workflows, with explicit responsibility for managing master data continuity with SAP Business ByDesign. Operational capabilities implemented included scheduled BW data loads to support month end close, stewardship of finance master data to preserve reporting integrity, and administration of BPC reporting for finance users.
Integrations were maintained with SAP Business ByDesign and SAP BPC to ensure transactional and planning data fed the Data Warehouse, and the finance team also managed master data in SAP Concur as part of broader finance system hygiene. The deployment supported multiple UK sites and an international site for month end processing, and routine user training, documentation and issue escalation were part of operational support.
Governance and process controls were enforced through coordination with the IT Change Management team to validate system changes, and through knowledge transfer activities where senior analysts documented new processes and trained colleagues. Day to day administration combined master data stewardship, BW load management and BPC reporting support, aligning finance operational workflows with the Data Warehouse platform.
