| Oracle | Oracle E-Business Suite | Oracle Cloud ERP | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2019 | 2020 |
In 2019 Deckers implemented Oracle Cloud ERP to consolidate ERP Financial functions across finance and supply chain. The program replaced Oracle E-Business Suite and focused on a combined Cloud Financial and Cloud SCM footprint including Self Service Procurement and OTBI reporting, aligning with enterprise finance, procurement, inventory, and order management operations.
Oracle Cloud ERP was configured for Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger, alongside Self Service Procurement capabilities such as Purchase Requisitions, Purchasing, Purchase Agreements, Procurement Contracts, Sourcing, Supplier Life Cycle Management, Supplier Qualification Management, and the Supplier Portal. Cloud SCM modules implemented included Cost Management, Inventory Management, Product Management, and Order Management. Reporting and extensibility work included OTBI, BI Publisher report remediation and creation, custom packages, Oracle Workflows, and personalization of Oracle Fusion pages on a Release 13 instance.
Integrations and middleware work explicitly covered Oracle integrations with Infor Nexus, High Jump, Concur, and JP Morgan Bank EFT, with ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance of those connections. The implementation team performed data migrations and built custom integrations to align procurement, logistics, and banking EFT processes with Cloud Financial and SCM transactional flows.
Governance for the Deckers Oracle Cloud ERP deployment required quarterly and potentially more frequent patches and upgrades at Oracle discretion, driven by a Business Process Analyst function that identified risks, maintained test scripts, and coordinated testing prior to updates. Change control artifacts included process flow charts, GANTT charts, business and system lifecycle diagrams, compliance documentation, and structured training materials such as how to guides and videos to support rollouts and sustainment. Major risks were to be raised to the business lead and the Director of IT, with possible coordination with Oracle Support when remediation exceeded internal scope.
The Deckers Oracle Cloud ERP ERP Financial implementation centralized core finance, procurement, and SCM processes and established formal procedures for enhancements, remediation, and ongoing maintenance. Emphasis on thorough testing, documentation, and training was documented as integral to preserving consistent and reliable financial data during patches, upgrades, and functional changes.
