In 2022, Demant implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as the foundation for a compliance training extension within its Core HR environment. The rollout to Global Operations began in spring and early summer of 2022 and targeted operator training and production compliance workflows across multiple production sites and supervisory roles.
The implemented solution delivered the Training system for Operators TSfO as an SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central extension, using Manageable MDF objects to store solution specific data and SAP Fiori driven interfaces built with SAPUI5. Functional capabilities implemented include automated scheduling and notifications for upcoming trainings, trainer assignment and approval flows, digital e signing of completion documents, a central digital certificate repository with searchable competence records, and dashboards for Group Leaders to monitor expiring certifications.
Architecturally the extension was developed on SAP Business Technology Platform using the Cloud Foundry runtime and deployed from SAP Business Application Studio, while all master employee data remained in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and was exchanged through the SuccessFactors HXM Suite OData APIs. The frontend follows SAP Fiori design rules and the project reports no requirement for third party integrations, with Effective People participating as the solution design and delivery partner for the BTP extension.
Operational coverage focused on Global Operations stakeholders including Group Leaders, Trainers, Operators and Auditors, directly influencing over 400 production users and supporting a broader deployment footprint reported at 1000 plus users with roughly 500 transactions per day. Governance and process changes centralized training planning, introduced digital signature workflows and automated reminders, and established a single digital audit repository. Explicit outcomes documented include reduced manual paperwork, reduced risk of non conformities, immediate transparency for management and auditors, and improved ability to search and utilize certified operator resources across Global Operations.
