The deployment concentrated on practice management and legal workflow orchestration administered by internal information management and system administration staff within Crown Law Tasmania. Lexis VisualFiles was configured to support practice management capabilities including business rules, matter intake, electronic conversion of documents, records archiving and disposal workflows, and relief accounts payable and receivable administration. Implementation activities included system configuration, development of business rules, creation of test cases and user stories, system demonstrations and end user training to support configuration and development work. The Lexis VisualFiles environment was integrated with the organisation's Electronic Document Management System Content Manger for document storage and retrieval, and configuration work included data mapping for migration into VisualFiles. Project tooling used during the implementation and ongoing development included Jira, DevOps, Confluence and SharePoint to manage agile backlogs, record requirements and share configuration artifacts. Governance and operational ownership rested with Information Management Officers and a subject matter expert for Crown Law Tasmania who coordinated system administration, testing and training activities and represented practice management needs in cross functional groups. Process changes emphasized formalised business rules within Lexis VisualFiles and compliance with legislative requirements for archiving and disposal of records, while operational coverage remained focused on Crown Law Tasmania and Justice information management teams.
