In 2012, Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial application to centralize project accounting, budget control and grant reporting. The implementation was led by GFA B.I.S., aligning system configuration with the foundation's donor and project finance requirements.
Infor SunSystems was configured to leverage multidimensional analysis, offering up to ten flexible analysis dimensions that can be attached to every single transaction. These analysis dimensions were defined to reflect organizational structures and activities such as implementers, donors, projects, budget lines, expense categories and regions, and each dimension is created and maintained independently while remaining linked through transaction processing and validation rules.
The deployment included up to ten ledgers dedicated to budgets and commitments, enabling structured budget control and commitment tracking across finance and project accounting workflows. Infor SunSystems served as the ERP Financial backbone for automated, enhanced reporting by combining dimensional transaction tagging with ledgered budget controls, providing full transparency into financial commitments and expenditure streams.
Governance and operational controls were implemented through centralized dimension schemas and transaction validation rules, enforced during posting to ensure data consistency across projects and donor streams. GFA B.I.S. configured the dimension maintenance processes and validation logic during rollout to embed standardized workflows for chart of analysis management and budgetary commitment processing.
