In 2017, Dic implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as an ERP Financial solution across a region spanning 10 countries, engaging Viseo Sweden as the system integrator. The initial phase emphasized requirements gathering, with a specific focus on finance controls, approval workflows, travel allowances, and statutory requirements for each location.
Implementation work centered on core ERP Financial capabilities, including configuration of financial master data, accounts payable and receivable processes, general ledger controls, and expense and travel allowance handling. The Viseo Sweden team, led in engagement commentary by James Ng, analyzed existing approval processes and identified policies and procedures that could be standardized across the region, then translated those standards into configured workflows and role based approvals in SAP ERP ECC 6.0.
Integration planning involved close collaboration with the IT department at Dic headquarters in Japan to ensure smooth interface and data exchange between SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and other financial systems. The project defined integration touch points for transactional finance data, approval status flows, and statutory reporting feeds, and documented technical requirements to support consistent cross border accounting and compliance.
Governance and rollout were structured as a three phase rollout strategy and timeline for the 10 country region, with regional standardization of policies preceding localized statutory and allowance adjustments. The program combined centralized policy definition with localized configuration for statutory compliance, and formalized approval processes to align operational finance, travel expense management, and IT change governance across participating sites.

In 2022, Dic deployed SAP Concur TripLink as part of a broader SAP Concur suite implementation led by Viseo Sweden. The engagement packaged Travel Management capabilities with expense and request workflows to centralize booking visibility and expense capture for Dic, a global manufacturing group headquartered in Japan.
The implementation encompassed Solutions Budget, Concur Expense, Concur Request, Concur TripLink, ExpenseIT, Service Administration, and a User Support Desk. SAP Concur TripLink was configured to link booking itineraries to expense records, ExpenseIT automated receipt capture, and Concur Expense enforced expense reporting workflows and policy controls within the Travel Management environment.
Operational coverage targeted finance, travel procurement, and corporate travel management functions, aligning approval workflows through Concur Request and budget controls via Solutions Budget. Service Administration and the User Support Desk were established for governance, support routing, and ongoing configuration management to maintain policy enforcement and operational continuity.
Viseo Sweden provided implementation and administration handover services, with SAP Concur TripLink referenced in operational documentation to clarify the relationship between booking data capture and expense reconciliation. The deployment integrated Travel Management and expense processes across Dic’s corporate functions to standardize travel booking visibility and expense processing.

In 2022, DIC Corporation deployed a pilot of SAP Green Token in the Supply Chain Compliance category to increase traceability of recycled plastics across its product lifecycles. The pilot uses GreenToken by SAP, a private blockchain solution, to give downstream customers a visible, auditable tokenized record of recycled material content and to support the companys sustainability communications and circularity objectives. The initiative was built in the Asia-Pacific and Japan region in collaboration with the SAP.iO Venture Studio, and the deployment emphasis was on tracking material flows from raw resource generation through production and use to recovery and recycling.
The implementation centered on blockchain-based digital twin tokens that map material provenance and movement across manufacturing, inspection, and quality assurance steps. Functional capabilities implemented include token creation at material generation, ledgered transfer through manufacturing and sales, and token reconciliation during selection and pulverization phases on the way to recovery and recycling. The system architecture emphasizes private blockchain custody for auditable supply chain transparency and substantiation of environmental claims, aligned with chemical recycling workflows where chemically recovered plastic becomes indistinguishable from conventional plastic.
Operational coverage for the pilot included the Packaging Materials Product Division and aligned with DICs existing food packaging recycling program that began in November 2020, concentrating on materials such as polystyrene that are challenging to recycle. Governance and rollout were staged as a pilot with planned continuation after pilot completion, positioning the solution as a proof point for broader circularity governance, material traceability processes, and supplier collaboration across the supply chain. The project aims to boost sustainable outcomes and increase circularity in the chemicals sector, and GreenToken by SAP received recognition as an innovation award recipient in the 2022 Financial Review Sustainability Leaders competition in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications category.
