In 2018, discoverIE Group implemented the OrderWise ERP System as an ERP Financial solution for a part distributor and part manufacturer within its portfolio, initiating a focused ERP programme and leading an Invitation to Tender that selected OrderWise. The OrderWise ERP System implementation was driven by a centralized programme team within discoverIE Group and scoped as a single-site deployment for the UK business unit.
The implementation began in August 2018 and progressed through a full implementation lifecycle, with go-live achieved on 1 October 2019 for the one location operation reporting c.20 employees and turnover near £15m. Project stewardship combined business analysis, change management and project management activities to align configuration with manufacturing and distribution operations in Harlow, Essex.
Configuration work centered on ERP Financial functionality, including core financial management and general ledger capabilities, accounts receivable and payable workflows, stock control and inventory management, sales order processing and purchase order processing to support distribution and light-manufacturing operations. The team worked closely with an implementation partner and internal business stakeholders to map order-to-cash and procure-to-pay workflows, and to align inventory control with financial posting rules.
Governance included a formal Invitation to Tender process, staged testing and cutover planning and defined change-control activities to minimize business interruption. The implementation of the OrderWise ERP System was delivered on time, delivered to budget and reported minimal business disruption, and it served as an early execution signal in discoverIE Groups wider programme of ERP and CRM reviews across its design and manufacturing portfolio.
