SAP Legacy SAP R/3 ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 1999 2000
In 1999, DMK Group implemented SAP R/3 as its core ERP Financial system, establishing a transactional backbone for finance and related back office processes. The SAP R/3 deployment anchored the companys ERP Financial architecture and provided the data foundation that later supported analytical extensions into SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse and SAP BusinessObjects. Following the SAP R/3 era DMK pursued a modern reporting initiative centered on SAP NetWeaver BW and the SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence platform. Windhoff Software Services GmbH was engaged to connect the BI suite directly to SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse, implement an authorization concept, and deliver a comprehensive user introduction. The project emphasized the use of the SAP Integration Kit to surface BW-managed data into the BusinessObjects semantic layer and reporting tools. Functional capabilities implemented included a semantic layer for departmental reporting, self-service report creation for specialist users, and folder and document level authorizations mapped from BW roles. Authentication and single sign-on were configured to flow from the SAP environment into SAP BusinessObjects, preserving existing access controls in SAP NetWeaver BW. The solution targeted departmental analytics needs and reduced routine reporting requests routed to the central IT organization based at the Zeven headquarters. Governance activities covered adoption of BW role and authorization structures into the BusinessObjects environment and hands-on training for business users. Windhoff executed the technical integration in a matter of days and delivered the authorization design and rollout training as part of the engagement, outcomes cited included a reliable reporting solution, easier information generation by specialist users, and a reduction in IT reporting workload and project budget pressure.

SAP Legacy SAP BusinessObjects Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2005 2005
In 2005, Deutsches Milchkontor GmbH operating as DMK Group implemented SAP BusinessObjects to modernize reporting on its existing SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse environment, a deployment categorized under Analytics and BI. The project targeted more user-friendly data provision and department-specific visualization for specialist users across the business, with IT headquarters in Zeven coordinating the effort for the company in the food and beverages industry. The SAP BusinessObjects implementation emphasized the platform semantic layer and the suite s individual reporting tools, enabling specialist users to generate reports and visualizations without heavy IT intervention. Configuration work focused on connecting BusinessObjects directly to SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse, and on adopting folder and document authorization models based on the BW role definitions to preserve existing access patterns. Windhoff Group was engaged to implement the technical integration, building the necessary interfaces between SAP BusinessObjects and SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse and developing the authorization concept. Authentication was routed through the SAP system using single sign on, and the SAP Integration Kit was used to enable the BI products to operate within the SAP environment, allowing rapid technical rollout that the project reported required only a few days. Governance and rollout included implementing the authorization model within SAP BusinessObjects to mirror BW roles and a comprehensive introduction to the new tools for specialist users, which reduced workload pressure on the central IT organization. The outcome delivered a reliable SAP BusinessObjects reporting solution that leveraged the existing SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse data warehouse and provided self-service reporting capabilities for departmental reporting needs.
