| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Dr. Schneider Unternehmensgruppe GMBH implemented SAP S/4 HANA as the cornerstone of an ERP Financial initiative to provide integrated consolidated planning across the corporate group. The engagement focused on embedding finance and group planning capabilities directly in the SAP S/4 HANA environment to support legal and management consolidation workflows.
The technical implementation included HANA native development using HANA Studio and CDS Views for data import, combined with HANA BW 7.5 Composite InfoProviders and Advanced DSO objects that store very detailed reference data such as sales and purchase dimensions for planning. Planning and consolidation were executed in embedded BPC 10.1, leveraging BPC Consolidation Business Rules with controls and the Consolidation Monitor, while planning logic used FOX programming to read reference data from aDSOs, and HANA BEX queries provided input and calculated key figures.
Integrations were explicitly built between the new S/4 HANA Finance instance and HANA BW, with HANA BW transformations importing transactional and master data from SAP ECC modules FI, CO, PCA, and SD to feed planning and consolidation. The solution linked embedded BPC 10.1 with HANA BW 7.5 Composite InfoProviders and transformations to enable end to end data flow for consolidated group planning and reporting, and data input and reporting workflows used SAP BusinessObjects Analysis for Office.
Governance and process changes centered on formalizing planning sequences, aggregation levels, and filters to operationalize consolidated planning, while consolidations were controlled through defined consolidation rules and monitors. Centralized reference data in Advanced DSOs and orchestrated reporting via BEX and AfO supported consistent group planning and consolidated financial reporting across the organization.
