The implementation configured workflow routing as the primary functional module, enabling scanned documents to be routed through unlimited workflow routes with an unlimited number of assigned approvers. Approvers receive notification messages with a link to the document, a comprehensive audit trail records each action, and the workflow supports proxy and substitute approver functionality to maintain processing continuity. Integration architecture included full integration with the base MHC Image Express product and automated creation of image copies and indexes produced by MHC Document Express into MHC Image Express. The AP Invoice Automation extension packages Lawson-sourced GL account distributions and submits them into the AP520 input process automatically, while PO invoice data processed via OCR is packaged and sent into the MA540 process, the AP520 and MA540 integration option was quoted at $39,000 and a Load Copies interface for AP check copies and 1099s is included. Operational coverage targeted the Accounts Payable function, encompassing invoice approvals, AP check handling, and related document types such as nonnegotiable AP check copies and 1099s. Governance features emphasized workflow-driven approval routing, audit trail retention, and notification-based approver workflows, with the OCR component required when optical character recognition is part of the document intake flow.
