| SAP | Legacy | SAP Business One | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2007 | 2008 |
In 2007 Duty Free Americas implemented SAP Business One as its ERP Financial application. The rollout focused on consolidating retail finance processes and strengthening point of sale reconciliation workflows by centralizing accounting and inventory valuation functions within SAP Business One.
Configuration work for SAP Business One concentrated on core financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and inventory valuation, with specific customization to support retail transaction flows. The implementation included configuration, build testing, and staged store upgrades to align register transaction data with financial posting rules in SAP Business One.
The SAP Business One deployment was integrated with the companys POS environment, explicitly including SAP POS version 9.5 and IBM POS systems, supported by Microsoft SQL Server databases and Oracle systems. Custom VB.net and Java applications were used for POS business logic and reporting, RED IRON Technologies applications were present in the stack, and a Mobile POS integration connected the register POS to a tablet with integrated MSR, scanner, and Bluetooth printer. A PE environment was used for image distribution and gold image management during store upgrades.
Operational governance was administered by IT analysts who served as configurators, test owners, and build approvers, they submitted support tickets for fixes, produced final gold images, and executed store upgrades. Ongoing responsibilities included POS configuration changes per division, test validation of builds, and maintaining reporting routines such as duplicate check and sales reports within the SAP Business One ERP Financial landscape.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Retail Sales Audit (ReSA) | Retail Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2006 | 2006 |
In 2006 Duty Free Americas implemented Oracle Retail Sales Audit ReSA within its Retail Management environment to centralize sales auditing and transaction validation across its US operations. Oracle Retail Sales Audit ReSA was deployed as a core audit engine linked to the company ERP transformation layer, with a focus on transaction integrity and exception handling for retail sales and settlement workflows.
The implementation emphasized sales audit processing, exception management, transaction validation rules, and settlement reconciliation modules typical of Retail Management solutions. Configuration work included audit rule sets, exception queues, automated validation logic, and workflows for transaction correction and rebilling, enabling structured handling of audit exceptions and manual adjustments.
Integrations were built around an ERP database transformation server and a secondary ERP transformation and integration database server, reflecting the dual server architecture used to stage and normalize POS and back office data. Oracle Retek Resa and Sim were part of the integration landscape, with transactional feeds ingested through the transformation servers into Oracle Retail Sales Audit ReSA and corrected transactions written back to the ERP transformation layer for downstream reconciliation.
Operational governance centered on hands on maintenance of the ERP transformation servers, operational ownership of exception queues by store operations and finance teams, and strict audit trails for corrected transactions. Day to day processes included triage of transactions with issues that hit Oracle Retek Resa and Sim, documented correction workflows, scheduled data loads, and monitoring to ensure data consistency across the Retail Management stack.
