In 2016, Edrington implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment centralized core financial management alongside procurement and inventory controls to support the companys consumer packaged goods operations and finance function.
Configuration work focused on standard ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable processes, procurement workflows and inventory management logic. Implementation artifacts and configuration targeted multi–organization purchasing scenarios and variable stock depletion and replenishment strategies to align purchasing, stock and finance processes across sales organizations.
Subsequent validation and testing work included a feasibility study and proof of concept to replace manual regression testing with automated tests for a daughter company in the Dominican Republic. That testing effort executed end to end scenarios and system integration testing against an external Java Portal used for customs declaration to HR Revenue & Customs Gov.UK, and it addressed purchase order variations and stock exhaustion timing during SIT and UAT.
The test automation implementation used Tricentis Tosca Server and Tosca Commander, with a regression test suite compiled from analysis of prior production incidents and defect leakage. Following successful pilots, the chosen regression and functional test automation strategy was adopted across the organization as a governance rule to include test automation in new projects, formalizing test automation in Edringtons SAP SAP ERP ECC 6.0 lifecycle.

In 2024, Edrington configured SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as an extension of its global SAP SuccessFactors estate to support Compensation Management across the organization. The initiative sits alongside Edrington’s deployment of Employee Central, Recruiting, Performance & Goals, Succession & Development, and onboarding innovations described during the SAP Customer Conversations event, reflecting a consolidated HR application footprint for the international spirits company with a global workforce of over 3000 people.
The SAP SuccessFactors Compensation implementation focused on standardizing compensation planning workflows and approval routings, and on linking pay cycle configuration to performance outcomes. SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was configured to consume salary and headcount attributes from Employee Central, and to leverage performance ratings from Performance & Goals to drive merit and variable pay consideration, aligning compensation workflows with existing talent and performance processes.
Operationally the Compensation deployment was positioned to support HR and total rewards processes across hiring managers and HRIS operations, integrating with recruiting and onboarding flows to ensure offer and new hire compensation data remained consistent. The work was presented by the HRIS Manager, emphasizing a globally consistent approach to HR process design, and the Compensation module was framed as part of a unified HR system landscape rather than a standalone point solution.
Governance changes emphasized centralized configuration and templated approval workflows, with HRIS stewardship guiding rollout and ongoing configuration. The broader program reported explicit outcomes for onboarding, including streamlined processes and enhanced new hire experience and hiring manager engagement, outcomes that complement the integrated use of SAP SuccessFactors Compensation within Edrington’s Compensation Management and broader HR operations.

In 2019, Edrington advanced its Analytics and BI capabilities through Programme Mercury, deploying SAP Analytics Cloud alongside an SAP Planning Analytics planning layer to centralize budgeting and forecasting across its group companies. Programme Mercury was initiated to provide standardized planning templates and controlled access to planning data for the Group Finance Team at UK Head Office and local market finance teams.
The implementation focused on planning and budgeting modules, forecast orchestration, and standardized monthly finance reporting packs, with SAP Analytics Cloud used for analytics and SAP Planning Analytics used for planning templates and data storage. The programme introduced an Excel plug-in called PAX as the primary data-entry interface, enabling users to retrieve templates, populate budget and forecast figures in Excel, and then commit data back to the live SAP Planning Analytics database.
Operational coverage included markets across Asia Pacific, the Nordics, the Dominican Republic, and the UK, and business functions impacted were group and local finance teams responsible for monthly reporting and forecast cycles. Technical and delivery practices were managed in an Agile cadence using Azure DevOps boards across multiple workstreams, aligning requirements, development, and testing activities with market-specific process captures.
Governance work included authoring and obtaining approval for a feasibility study and a proof of concept for a Web Intelligence reporting tool, facilitating functional requirements workshops, documenting as-is and to-be processes in MS Visio, producing functional requirements and user acceptance test scripts, and proofreading user guides to corporate documentation standards. The first full-time business analyst role at Edrington Distillers provided reusable templates for process mapping, requirements, and test artifacts that were adopted by the business and comply with corporate standards.
The programme explicitly aimed to reduce the number of global Excel spreadsheets by providing direct template access via PAX and committing updates to the live SAP Planning Analytics database, while SAP Analytics Cloud provided the analytics layer for consolidated reporting and insight delivery.
