In 2015, EgoKiefer implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment was positioned as an ERP Financial initiative to centralize core finance functions and enable integrated cross-module business processes across the organization.
The implementation covered SAP modules SD, MM, FI, CO and HR, with configuration work focused on order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, financial accounting and controlling flows, and HR master data interfaces. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was configured with role and authorization definitions tied to interface access across SD/MM/FI/CO/HR, ensuring transaction and data access controls were enforced at the module interface level.
Architecturally the program included SAP PI XI middleware to orchestrate and monitor interfaces between SAP ERP and external systems, with a dedicated sub-project management function for SAP PI XI interface delivery. Responsibilities included conception, implementation and ongoing development of inbound and outbound interfaces, continuous monitoring of interface processing, and coordination and clarification of incidents in SAP interfaces.
Governance and operational readiness activities included definition of authorization roles for SAP interfaces, incident management workflows with feedback loops on interface processing, and migration, load and performance testing to validate SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and SAP PI XI integration. The rollout emphasized interface stability and cross-functional coordination across finance, sales, procurement and HR at EgoKiefer AG's operational sites.

In 2023, EgoKiefer implemented SAP HCM (HR) in the Core HR category to centralize time recording and accounting using the SAP component CATS. The project targeted the manufacturing firm’s need to use recorded working hours as the basis for hour distributions into Controlling and Logistics and to provide better inputs for production planning.
The implementation configured CATS inside SAP HCM (HR) and included a bespoke extension developed by HCM ADVICE that lets employees see remaining distributable hours and split time entries into internal and external activities. The extension also captures detailed time records in CATS so entries can be routed for downstream accounting and cost allocation workflows. SAP HCM (HR) configuration emphasized time reporting, employee self-service visibility, and distribution rules used for cost assignment.
Data recorded via CATS is transferred into SAP Controlling and SAP Logistics modules, with custom logic created to map time entries to individual process orders where standard SAP behavior did not allow direct transfers. Operational coverage included Controlling, Logistics and production planning teams, and the solution supports both shop floor and salaried employee time reporting. The integration design focused on deterministic transfer of hours for accounting and production scheduling purposes.
Governance and rollout included new processing steps to validate distributed hours and a visibility workflow so each employee maintains a constant overview of hours worked. The implementation moved from analysis through testing to hand-over over a four month time span, with approximately 80 percent of work performed remotely and 20 percent on-site. Follow-up activities enumerated by the customer include ongoing support for CATS and additional optimizations to the deployed SAP HCM (HR) configuration.
