In 2017, Emami Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The implementation was positioned to consolidate SAP-based business processes and create a unified, high-performance transactional and reporting environment across the organization.
The SAP S/4 HANA deployment consolidated core operational ERP functions and reporting and analytics onto a HANA platform, while preserving SAP-enabled business processes that support manufacturing, contract manufacturing coordination, and finance. Configuration emphasis included financial management and operational master data consolidation, coupled with analytics instrumentation on the HANA database to improve transactional reporting and financial close workflows.
Deployment architecture incorporated a cloud infrastructure layer that the company had migrated to, delivering scalability, responsiveness and resilience at optimal costs. The rollout integrated partner manufacturers into the core SAP ERP environment, covering about 70% by value of the companys contract manufacturing roster, enabling centralized order, invoicing and inventory coordination within the SAP S/4 HANA landscape.
Governance focused on IT capability uplift and partner onboarding, with process harmonization across business units to align contract manufacturing and internal operations to a single ERP Financial backbone. Outcomes stated by the company include enhanced scalability, responsiveness and resilience as a result of the cloud and HANA upgrade, while ongoing governance concentrated on maintaining integrated operational and financial workflows within SAP S/4 HANA.

In 2017 Emami Group implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR platform, deploying the full Employee Central application to consolidate core personnel data and lifecycle workflows. The SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central deployment covered eight manufacturing units plus corporate operations, corporate purchase and corporate packaging development departments, aligning a single Core HR instance with the company personnel model.
Configuration work included RCM, LMS, PMS and the Employee Central module, with explicit configuration of recruiting, learning administration, performance management and employee master data. Implementation activity encompassed end user training delivery for all modules and configuration work tied to manpower planning, manpower budgeting, resourcing strategy, structured interview processes, goal setting and performance management completion, and management of employee engagement and allocated manpower across grades.
Rollout was executed as a coordinated cutover, achieving 100 percent implementation and Go Live across all eight units simultaneously, supported by end user trainings and HR audit routines to enforce adherence to policies. Governance aligned HR operational processes to the SuccessFactors configuration, enabling centralized employee data stewardship and standardized recruitment, learning and performance workflows across manufacturing sites and corporate functions.

In 2016, Emami Group implemented Tableau in the Analytics and BI category to move from spreadsheet-driven MIS reporting toward automated visual analytics and a self-service reporting model. That year Emami established a Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence to focus on automating the monthly reporting process and maturing analytics capabilities across the organization.
The Tableau deployment centered on a library of 67 visualizations including product sales by region and channel, a brand heatmap with drill down, purchase order monitoring, operational hygiene and productivity views, and a decision tree for root cause analysis. Dashboards were configured for scheduled and on-demand refreshes that pull data directly from Emami’s data warehouse, and the program included building interactive drill down and exploratory workflows to support both descriptive and emerging predictive analytics use cases such as cross sell and up sell recommendations and sales route optimization.
CRG Solutions served as a primary Tableau partner in converting Emami’s vision into production dashboards and adoption activities, and the engagement also lists Banca Investis as an implementation partner. Operational coverage extended across commercial, sales and distribution teams, finance and operations, with usage expanding from 20 named users to 150 active Tableau users within two years, and dashboards made available for business consumption by the second day of each month.
Governance was implemented through the Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence and a series of user workshops to drive adoption and request management, shifting reporting ownership toward departmental self service. The project removed a manual report preparation cycle that previously took up to ten days, enabled virtual business review meetings during COVID 19, and positioned Emami to advance from descriptive dashboards to predictive analytics while retaining enterprise control through the CoE and governed self service.
