In 2016 Evangelische Bank implemented Profidata XENTIS as its central platform for portfolio management and for performing depositary functions within a Portfolio and Investment Management program. The decision followed a feasibility study by itechx GmbH, a subsidiary of Profidata Group, and a detailed system valuation process that evaluated end to end investment workflows and order processing requirements.
Profidata XENTIS was configured to deliver an integrated Front Office, Middle Office and Back Office chain, with XENTIS Front Office providing detailed financial analysis and support for trading decisions, and XENTIS Middle and Back Office enabling direct further processing of resulting transactions. The implementation included automation of order and trade management using xpass, positioning xpass as the order middleware to standardise and accelerate order processing and reduce time consuming manual procedures.
Integration scope explicitly tied xpass to Profidata XENTIS, leveraging xpass as an established order middleware in the cooperative bank network Genossenschaftliche FinanzGruppe Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken and using it in conjunction with XENTIS for custody and order flows. Operational coverage targeted portfolio management, custodian business and order management, with oversight from corporate services and IT functions as reflected in internal governance and selection statements from division leadership.
Governance and process objectives centered on creating a homogeneous system environment, greater automation, improved process quality and strategic growth through more efficient use of human resources. System configuration and workflow standardisation were selected to align investment management processes with the bank s business model, with Evangelische Bank selecting the integrated approach of Profidata XENTIS and xpass to meet those requirements.
