In 2020, EVN Macedonia implemented SAP S/4 HANA to replace SAP ERP ECC 6.0, executing a concentrated ERP Financial program that focused on harmonizing core accounting and finance operations. The engagement included a six month run from June 2020 to November 2020, during which local project staff performed process analysis and produced an adaptation plan to align Macedonian finance processes to the new SAP S/4 HANA data model and transactional flows.
Workstreams were oriented around configuring core ERP Financial capabilities typical for utilities, with emphasis on general ledger harmonization, accounts payable and receivable process standardization, and fixed asset accounting and control. The project artifacts and configuration activity emphasized finance master data reconciliation and chart of accounts alignment to support centralized ledgers in SAP S/4 HANA.
Operational coordination involved managing Macedonian project teams and running cross-country workshops, with explicit coordination of sessions involving MK, AT, and BG teams together with SAP consultants. The scope of the implementation covered finance organization workflows in Macedonia, and used workshops as the primary forum for requirements validation, process mapping, and configuration signoff.
Governance was implemented through a structured timeline tracking of work-group tasks, a formal process adaptation plan, and role-based responsibilities for project delivery, with business analyst and project assistant activities focused on process analysis, task coordination, and workshop management. Change activities were sequenced to align configuration sprints with business signoffs and to maintain traceability of process changes into the SAP S/4 HANA configuration outputs.
