In 2007, Fab implemented Oracle NetSuite Commerce to establish a centralized eCommerce platform for its Consumer Packaged Goods business in the United States. Fab is a US-based retailer with approximately 240 employees and the deployment targeted core online storefront operations under the eCommerce category.
The Oracle NetSuite Commerce implementation focused on standard eCommerce functional modules, including catalog and content management, storefront merchandising, shopping cart and checkout workflows, order management, pricing and promotions, and tax and compliance configuration. Implementation work emphasized catalog and SKU modeling to support product merchandising and online assortments consistent with consumer retail workflows.
Operational integrations were scoped to synchronize commerce data with fulfillment and financial processes, enabling order capture to feed downstream inventory visibility and accounting reconciliation. The deployment connected storefront transaction flows to payment processing, shipping and fulfillment orchestration, and customer service order lookup functions, providing a single transactional record for commerce activities across merchandising, operations, and customer support teams.
Governance and process changes centered on establishing commerce ownership for product information management, order routing rules, and promotional approval workflows. The rollout standardized online merchandising practices and operational handoffs between eCommerce, operations, and customer service, and used Oracle NetSuite Commerce as the primary system of record for storefront transactions and order lifecycle events.
