| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Fincantieri Marine Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment targeted ERP Financial operations across the United States subsidiary, explicitly covering the three U.S. shipyards Fincantieri Marinette Marine, Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, and Fincantieri ACE Marine to align corporate finance with shipbuilding contract accounting and capital asset management.
Configuration emphasized core financial modules within SAP S/4 HANA, including general ledger and financial accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable, asset accounting, treasury and cash management, cost controlling, and project accounting capabilities tailored to long cycle shipbuilding programs. The implementation also included configuration of multi ledgers, standardized chart of accounts, period close workflows, and controls consistent with ERP Financial requirements for a multi site industrial manufacturer.
Operational scope focused on finance, accounting, procurement adjacencies, and IT financial management for program level cost tracking across the three yards. The deployment was structured for intercompany accounting and consolidated financial reporting across the U.S. shipyards, enabling centralized financial governance while preserving site level project accounting and contract billing for U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard programs.
Governance and rollout were led by chief information officer Victor Lemos, who assumed responsibility for the companys digital transformation and the SAP S/4 HANA program. Governance actions included establishing centralized finance stewardship, standardizing close and compliance processes, and embedding project finance controls into procurement and contract billing workflows to support ongoing IT financial management.

| Infor | Legacy | Infor LN | Manufacturing ERP | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Fincantieri Marine Group implemented Infor LN as its Manufacturing ERP. The initial deployment targeted the 63 acre Sturgeon Bay production facility, concentrating on formalizing work order issuance and material flow to support heavy fabrication and waterfront assembly for programs such as LCS, MMSC and FFG(X).
Infor LN was configured to support core manufacturing workflows including work order management, steel inventory control, material requisitioning, shop floor control, part routing and low level scheduling. The implementation aligned Infor LN functional modules with duties described in existing planning roles, enabling issuance and validation of work orders, tracking daily material receipts and issues, and supporting outfitting work order creation and estimate generation from historical metrics.
The deployment integrated inbound inputs from IMS and Baan alongside direct shop floor data and computer aided ship manufacture technologies to provide a consolidated production record. Operational coverage spanned fabrication shops, planning and production supervision, lofting, engineering and facilities, positioning Infor LN as the transactional backbone for production planning and materials status across the waterfront and multiple fabrication work centers.
Governance changes included centralizing work order release from Planning, standardizing part routing and best practices by work center, and formalizing the primary liaison role between lofting, engineering and production. The rollout emphasized procedural standardization for short range scheduling and inventory reconciliation, and provided a platform to document and enforce shop level process performance and routing standards.
