The implementation aligned Infor LN functional modules with duties described in existing planning roles, enabling issuance and validation of work orders, tracking daily material receipts and issues, and supporting outfitting work order creation and estimate generation from historical metrics.
The deployment integrated inbound inputs from IMS and Baan alongside direct shop floor data and computer aided ship manufacture technologies to provide a consolidated production record. Operational coverage spanned fabrication shops, planning and production supervision, lofting, engineering and facilities, positioning Infor LN as the transactional backbone for production planning and materials status across the waterfront and multiple fabrication work centers.
Governance changes included centralizing work order release from Planning, standardizing part routing and best practices by work center, and formalizing the primary liaison role between lofting, engineering and production. The rollout emphasized procedural standardization for short range scheduling and inventory reconciliation, and provided a platform to document and enforce shop level process performance and routing standards.
