In 2015, First Atlantic implemented PointClickCare AHT Revenue Cycle Management to centralize Revenue Cycle Management for its Accounts Receivables and revenue operations. The program explicitly addressed the clinical to billing handoff, driven by First Atlantic's position as the first Maine site with an EMAR which required extraction of clinical data from its previous clinical package and import into the billing package.
The PointClickCare AHT Revenue Cycle Management rollout focused on core revenue cycle capabilities common to the category, including claims and billing workflows, accounts receivable management, and charge capture orchestration, configured to accept and map imported clinical data into billing processes. Configuration work emphasized mapping clinical data fields to coding and billing logic, and designing frontline user workflows for AR specialists.
A key technical requirement was the integration to extract data from the prior clinical system and import it into the new billing package, this requirement was central during vendor selection and technical vetting. The vendor conducted onsite technical sessions which enabled detailed question and answer exchanges with the Accounts Receivables/Revenue Cycle team and validated data import approaches.
Governance and rollout incorporated vendor-led training for frontline staff and rework of AR intake processes to accommodate the new billing data flows, with Tammy Roscia, Director of Accounts Receivables/Revenue Cycle, reporting that staff left the vendor sessions excited about the change. PointClickCare AHT Revenue Cycle Management was positioned to support First Atlantic's Revenue Cycle Management business function through structured data import, AR workflow configuration, and frontline operational adoption.
