In 2017, First Premier Bank deployed FIS Relius to consolidate retirement plan recordkeeping and administration, targeting Benefits Administration,Pension Administration functionality across its plan portfolio. The FIS Relius implementation covered over 45 retirement plans, including 401K, Profit Sharing, MPP and CODA, and used plan specific documents to drive configuration of plan specifications.
The implementation configured FIS Relius Administration modules to capture plan specs such as contribution formulas, distributions, participant loans, forfeiture rules and fee schedules. Administrators added plan investments, Investment Table entries, Trade Agent assignments, Plan Investments and Plan Sources, and enabled Participant Web Access along with account level Account Activity, Participant Loan and Participant Distribution processing.
The project integrated data from an existing Infovisa Maui Trust system by transferring individual participant investment allocations into FIS Relius, and by building Data Pro reports to extract import-ready feeds. Reports and extracts included daily reconciliation detail, dividend import files and un-invested cash reports to support Daily Trade Import/Export and recurring import/export routines for ongoing recordkeeping.
Governance and operationalization centered on establishing daily routines and written procedural guidelines for recordkeeping, moving plans from an annual evaluation cadence to daily processing. The team supported annual compliance work by preparing Form 5500 filings and assisting the Plan Administrator with annual plan evaluations, embedding FIS Relius as the core platform for plan administration and participant account access.
