In 2022, Flos implemented DIALux Evo as the primary 3D Modeling application to standardize lighting planning and calculation within its Light Design Department. Deployment concentrated on the Light Design Department, with the application used directly by lighting designers to produce photometric studies and presentation renders that support sales proposals and technical consultations.
The DIALux Evo implementation emphasized core capabilities of the 3D Modeling category, including photometric calculations, fixture positioning and selection, 3D calculation workflows, and generation of presentation renders and project documentation. Functional use cases documented by the Light Design Department Manager include lighting calculations, CAD-based positioning of fixtures, render creation for product launches, and on-site inspection support.
Operational coverage extended beyond the Light Design team to actively support the sales force and R&D, with the system used for project support, coordination during custom product development, and post-sales assistance. The implementation also underpinned training programs for customers and agents, including in-house sessions at headquarters and online webinars delivered to the sales organization in English, and it was leveraged for event and fair site management during setup and dismantling phases.
Governance and process changes centered on structured coordination between R&D and Sales for custom products, definition of commercial strategy inputs from the Light Design team, and embedding DIALux Evo outputs into project handoffs and customer-facing deliverables. Training and ongoing design consultancy by the Light Design Department Manager formalized the toolset into operational practice across product development, sales enablement, and post-sales workflows.
