In 2019 Foerbo implemented Aareon Momentum Property, adopting the web-based Momentum Fastighet as a cloud property management solution. The deployment targeted Foerbo's housing portfolio of roughly 6,000 homes across Härryda, Mölndal, Lerum and Kungälv and supported an organization of about 65 employees, anchored by an IT-led initiative to move from Windows-based applications to fast, cloud-native services. The implementation emphasized configuration and modern functional modules, notably the General case module that enabled freeform case creation linked to property objects and allowed Förbo to retire an external case management tool. The deployment also included the platform messaging service for targeted tenant and staff communication, in-system BI functionality planned to replace an external BI integration, and configuration controls that let Förbo perform most system changes without consultant intervention, with vendor scripting used only for large data loads. Aareon Momentum Property updates are delivered monthly and automatically, removing the annual full-day upgrade windows that had previously required system downtime.
Integrations were explicitly scoped to include Business Intelligence and financial systems, and project execution used digital collaboration tools such as Projectplace and Teams to accelerate issue resolution during the spring 2019 rollout. Operational coverage extended from office personnel to field teams, with a subsequent plan to provision laptops to enable remote access for all staff and to leverage mobile workflows in the field.
Governance and change management centered on early internal ambassadors and manager sponsorship to drive adoption, complemented by an initial training program and a peer-to-peer adoption model where early adopters coached less confident users. Förbo reported that the primary challenge during rollout was organizational change and user adoption rather than technical integration or deployment.
Reported outcomes from the new Aareon Momentum Property environment included materially faster system performance and process completion, notifications that previously took close to an hour now completing in minutes, increased use of the built-in messaging service, reduced dependence on external consultants for configuration, and elimination of disruptive annual upgrades through automatic monthly updates.
