In 2016 Forbo Flooring implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its core ERP Financial platform to consolidate transactional finance and accounting processes across the business. The deployment placed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 at the center of financial recordkeeping and financial controls for a manufacturing organization of approximately 5,700 employees, establishing a single application for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger control within the ERP Financial domain.
The implementation covered SAP ERP ECC 6.0 financial modules and integrated operational modules aligned with order-to-cash and procure-to-pay workflows, with explicit use of SD and MM in transactional processing. Configuration work focused on standard ERP Financial functionality, intercompany posting support, master data alignment for customers and suppliers, and authorization structures to enforce financial controls.
Integrations were implemented between SAP CRM and SAP ERP ECC 6.0 for SD/MM transactional synchronization, and middleware and integration tooling were part of the operational stack, with ongoing middleware monitoring responsibilities noted. Forbo Flooring executed CRM-related roll-outs for complaint management across 12 countries, relying on integrated SAP CRM to ECC SD/MM interfaces, and participated in a program to move CRM functionality to SAP C4C while maintaining the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 finance backbone.
Operational governance emphasized ongoing authorization maintenance, functional support, user training, change request handling, and incident management as part of the ERP Financial support model. Day-to-day ownership included middleware monitoring and data changes to preserve transactional integrity between SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and front-end sales and service systems, aligning IT governance with finance and sales process accountability.

| SSG Insight | Legacy | AgilityCore | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Forbo Flooring implemented AgilityCore as its Enterprise Asset Management solution to replace a paper-based maintenance approach and to provide data visibility for maintenance and engineering functions. The deployment began at the Ripley, Derbyshire manufacturing site and was positioned to support Forbo’s broader footprint of 14 manufacturing sites across mainland Europe and the UK, addressing plant floor maintenance, production reliability and inter-departmental communications.
The AgilityCore implementation centered on CMMS capabilities including electronic work request capture, task scheduling and prioritization, KPI tracking, component-level performance tracking, preventative and operator maintenance workflows, parts tracking and reporting. The solution delivered role-tailored introduction screens for operators and engineers, enabling simple plant floor entry of work requests and producing structured datasets for analysis and capital project justification.
The technical implementation used a web based user interface accessible from desktop terminals on the plant floor, with approximately 15 engineers and 120 operators configured to enter and manage work. The rollout followed a two part approach of general implementation guidance followed by targeted training, using Agility system champions drawn from Forbo technicians and engineers who cascaded learning and drove adoption. Data extraction and the system report function were configured to produce time based reports and consistent analyses for maintenance strategy assessment.
Governance and process changes emphasized ownership of input data, open visibility of task status with visual indicators for schedules and priorities, and a move to data driven prioritization of maintenance work to remove emotion from resource allocation decisions. Communication with operators and transparent engineering process views were used to drive uptake and embed new workflows into daily operations.
Explicit operational outcomes reported by Forbo include a productivity increase where the same team logged over 200 percent more maintenance requests and actions, and a rise in technical availability from 89 percent to 97 percent. The implementation enabled quicker visibility of delinquent parts, tracking of third party repairs to assess supplier performance, and the generation of data to inform replacement and stock holding strategies.
