| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail POS | Point Of Sale | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Fortnum & Mason implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail POS to formalize Point Of Sale capabilities within its Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment, as part of a version 10.0.11 update project. The engagement focused on retail, call centre and e-commerce channel coverage, using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail POS to unify in-store and online transaction workflows.
Configuration work centered on Commerce Scale Unit deployment, including RSSU and RCSU, and the setup of MPOS and CPOS with offline databases and D365 HQ configuration. Retail and commerce functional modules were configured inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, with explicit attention to POS functions, call centre sales flows and MPOS CPOS synchronization.
The implementation integrated payment and gift payment connectors, implementing the Adyen Payment Connector and a Givex external gift card connector inside Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. E-commerce integration work covered credit card processing, omni-channel payments and linked refunds, and the program supported upstream and downstream integrations including POS interfaces, EDI and TrueCommerce middleware, a third party warehouse system, e-commerce storefront connectivity and the AGR Merchandising tool. Unit tests for call centre and retail store processes were executed against D365 version 10.
Operational governance and support were handled through a Business System Analyst role focused on Microsoft Dynamics 365 SCM, POS, call centres and retail stores, providing troubleshooting, business process remediation and incident management. Daily monitoring of critical system activities and coordination of resolution for integrated application issues were primary operational controls during the rollout and stabilization phase.

In 2024 Fortnum & Mason implemented RELEX Rebot from RELEX Solutions as part of a RELEX deployment for forecasting and replenishment across its United Kingdom operations. The deployment is cataloged under Generative AI Platforms and was selected to improve product availability, optimise inventory and reduce waste across UK stores and distribution points.
The implementation focuses on core forecasting and replenishment capabilities, with RELEX Rebot providing AI-assisted planner workflows and decision support to accelerate demand forecasting and generate replenishment proposals. Functional capabilities implemented include demand forecasting, inventory optimisation and replenishment planning, together with planner decision-assist features consistent with RELEX Rebot functionality.
Demandtex provided implementation support for configuration, user enablement and rollout coordination of the RELEX deployment at Fortnum & Mason. RELEX made Rebot generally available in March 2024, so Fortnum & Mason's RELEX deployment likely includes RELEX Rebot as the planner-facing generative AI component to boost planner productivity and decision-making.
Operational scope for the deployment covers supply chain planning, merchandising and inventory management within the United Kingdom, with direct impact on planning and inventory teams responsible for assortment and store replenishment. Governance emphasis centers on aligning planner workflows and inventory policies with the new AI-assisted decisioning, supported by Demandtex during the rollout.
