In 2009, the French State implemented CHORUS Government Financial Information System. CHORUS Government Financial Information System is an ERP Financial application that was rolled out to the Services of the Prime Minister to centralize financial management, spending controls and accounting across ministries.
The deployment focused on core public sector finance capabilities including standardized accounting ledgers, budgetary control and commitment accounting, with configuration to enforce a national chart of accounts and uniform accounting workflows. CHORUS Government Financial Information System supported consolidated reporting and governance controls consistent with ERP Financial functionality.
CGI managed deployment activities beginning in 2009, coordinating rollout across ministerial finance units and operationalizing the system through 2011. By 2011 the implementation had moved into maintenance, reflecting a transition from project delivery to ongoing operational support.
The program standardized accounting processes across the French State and increased transparency of public spending, reshaping operational governance for ministry finance teams and central financial oversight. The implementation supported France’s finance and accounting transformation by centralizing spending controls and unifying accounting practices under CHORUS Government Financial Information System.
