In 2006 Fuchs implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The deployment targeted ERP Financial processes and was executed with Syntax listed as the SI/VAR, establishing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the core finance and controlling backbone for the FUCHS Group.
Implementation centered on SAP FI/CO capabilities, with configuration covering core financial modules such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and controlling components including cost center accounting, profit center accounting, and internal order controlling. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 was used to standardize accounting postings, period-end close workflows, and statutory financial reporting across the organization, aligning with typical ERP Financial functional workflows.
Operational coverage focused on corporate finance and controlling functions across the FUCHS Group, with consultants and in-house teams in Mannheim providing FI/CO support and ongoing process improvement. The implementation was structured to support transactional capture from site operations and to enable group-level consolidation and internal cost allocation, using SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to centralize financial records and controlling data.
Governance combined SI/VAR project delivery by Syntax with embedded FI/CO consultant support inside FUCHS, emphasizing SAP-based process ownership, defined change control for finance configuration, and ongoing FI/CO project work. Day-to-day operations included structured SAP FI/CO support and process improvement activities, reflecting sustained enterprise governance over ERP Financial processes.

In 2007, Fuchs Petrolub AG implemented SAP BusinessObjects as its Analytics and BI solution and introduced SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence components to create a unified reporting layer. The project targeted standardization of reporting across finance and sales, and it was scheduled to go live in October 2007.
The implementation configured SAP BusinessObjects and SAP NetWeaver BI to provide uniform planning, simulation and analysis capabilities, with functional modules for standardized local sales reporting, accounts receivable reporting, inventory reporting, and a dedicated reporting system for cost center accounting and budgeting. The solution provided versatile tools for converting internal and external data into usable analyses and reports, bundled within a single application interface, and enabled tailored queries and individual modeling for diverse user groups.
Integration work focused on embedding the Analytics and BI solution into the existing ERP system landscape so authorized employees could access relevant corporate databases online and create analyses, charts and reports on demand. The deployment supported around 300 SAP users and extended operational coverage to field sales use cases, including access to detailed sales figures, incoming orders and customer complaints, while aiming to simplify manual processes, shorten response times to market changes and reduce data processing errors.
The project was executed together with Freudenberg IT KG and SI VAR Syntax, with governance led by Group IT Manager and Head of Euro SAP Bernd Rothacker who cited FITs ongoing SAP support in Germany and the USA as a factor in partner selection. The initiative centralized information management and created standardized reporting and self service analysis within the company, consistent with the stated objectives of improved reporting and information management.
