In 2017, Fujairah National Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial core, replacing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and initiating a database upgrade to the HANA platform. The move established SAP S/4 HANA as the central transactional and accounting backbone for group finance operations while starting a parallel program to migrate the corporate CPM to SAP S/4 HANA CPM.
The implementation focused on finance-centric functional modules common to ERP Financial deployments, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury management, and group consolidation capabilities. SAP S/4 HANA suite configuration emphasized in-memory data models and simplified financial master data structures, and the program explicitly sequences an upgrade of the CPM layer to align planning, budgeting, and consolidation with the S/4 HANA data model.
Architecturally the deployment centers on the HANA database upgrade and the broader S/4 HANA suite, with the SAP S/4 HANA application providing the transactional layer for corporate accounting and treasury processes. Operational coverage targets corporate finance, treasury, and group reporting teams, consolidating financial workflows onto the S/4 HANA platform and preparing CPM for parity with the suite.
Governance adopted a parallel upgrade approach, maintaining continuity of financial operations while executing phased cutovers by module and process area, and running the CPM upgrade alongside core S/4 HANA stabilization. The rollout emphasizes data model harmonization and process realignment across close, planning, and consolidation workflows to leverage the S/4 HANA architecture.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) | Plant Maintenance | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Fujairah National Group implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) to establish formal maintenance and asset management capabilities across its diversified operations. The deployment targeted core operational divisions including Construction, Real Estate, Healthcare, Education, Oil Storage, Aviation, Trading, Services and Hotels, aligning Plant Maintenance processes with enterprise project management activities and supporting an employee base of approximately 4000 in the United Arab Emirates East Coast operations.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 - Plant Maintenance (PM) implementation was configured to interoperate with project control and commercial project modules, with explicit functional scope covering maintenance planning, work order processing, and integration points to project structures. Functional modules and capabilities implemented included SAP PM core work order and maintenance planning functions, concurrent support for Project Systems and Plant Maintenance integration, and adoption of CPM 2.0 SP04 components for project workspace views, project financial planning, and issue and change management to align maintenance work with project governance.
Integrations were a central element of the architecture, with EPPM Primavera 15.1.1 connected via a bidirectional EPC 3.0 link to SAP PS, enabling schedule and progress synchronization between Primavera and SAP Project Systems, and PS to PM integration for linking project activities to maintenance work orders. Practical data entry for progress and issue updates was supported by an Excel to Primavera integration, preserving field-level data flow into the enterprise scheduling and project control stack. The implemented landscape therefore positioned SAP PM within a tightly coupled ecosystem of PPM, PS, CPM and EPPM tooling.
Governance and operational coverage emphasized cross-functional coordination between project controls, maintenance, and finance teams, with implemented Issue and Change Management under CPM 2.0 SP04 enforcing project level controls that influence maintenance planning and execution. Support scope is documented as PS, PM, CPM and PPM, and the program also notes a concurrent technology trajectory, moving the SAP footprint through a S4 HANA database upgrade and progressing toward S4 HANA CPM to maintain alignment between Plant Maintenance and modernized project management capabilities.
