| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2011 | 2011 |
In 2011, Gazprom implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to centralize its ERP Financial processes. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment served as the companys core finance and accounting backbone, targeting standardized ledgers, consolidation, and statutory reporting across its finance organization. The program focused on establishing uniform financial master data and accounting practices under a single application.
Configuration centered on SAP Financial Accounting and Controlling functionality, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, cost controlling, and treasury-oriented processes, reflecting standard ERP Financial capabilities. The implementation encompassed legal entity structures, chart of accounts harmonization, multi-currency accounting, and period-end close orchestration within SAP ERP ECC 6.0. Workflows and authorization roles were configured to align with corporate finance controls and segregation of duties.
The deployment used a centralized SAP ERP ECC 6.0 instance to create a single source of financial truth for Gazproms corporate finance teams, with master data governance instituted for ledgers, cost centers, and financial hierarchies. Operational coverage emphasized corporate finance, statutory and management reporting, tax and treasury functions, and accounts operations. The implementation reinforced consistent posting rules, period close sequencing, and ledger reconciliation processes inside the SAP environment.
Governance included formalized process ownership, role-based access controls within SAP ERP ECC 6.0, and structured change control for financial configuration and reporting rules. The rollout prioritized configuration-driven standardization and phased enablement of accounting processes, supported by training and process documentation to embed consistent finance workflows.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Gazprom implemented SAP HCM (HR) as its Core HR solution to centralize human resources administration for an enterprise workforce of 466,100 employees. The deployment established SAP HCM (HR) as the system of record for personnel data and core HR workflows across Gazprom, aligning the application with the vendor SAP and the company headquarters in Russia.
Configuration work focused on core functional modules common to Core HR deployments, including Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, Payroll configuration and Employee and Manager Self-Service. The SAP HCM (HR) implementation emphasized master data modeling, position and organizational hierarchies, and configurable HR workflows to support hiring, transfers, and separations.
Operational scope covered HR and payroll business functions, with the implementation designed to centralize core HR process orchestration and role-based access to personnel records. The project scope and module set indicate an enterprise-wide approach to personnel data governance and HR process standardization across Gazprom's corporate HR organization.
Governance and delivery included lead consulting ownership, with a named SAP HCM Lead Consultant directing module configuration, testing, and cutover activities. The program placed emphasis on establishing HR data stewardship, change control for HR configuration objects, and end-user enablement for self-service HR tasks.

| Hyperledger | Legacy | Hyperledger Fabric | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Gazpromneft-Aero, the aircraft refueling operator of Gazprom Neft within the Gazprom group, deployed Hyperledger Fabric as the core ledger for its Smart Fuel solution on a Blockchain Platform. The Smart Fuel system received market launch approval on June 1, 2021 after trials on over 100 Smartavia Airlines flights and a pilot deployment at Murmansk International Airport.
The implementation configures Hyperledger Fabric to support instant digital aviation refueling workflows, including blockchain smart payments, automated exchange of accounting documents, and tablet-based pilot authorization flows. Smart Fuel places agreed payment amounts on the ledger to enable automated request, authorization, and final settlement, reducing manual administrative steps and integrating financial transaction logic directly into the refueling workflow.
Integrations implemented during the rollout include synchronization with an airline electronic flight bag and the digital aviation fuel accounting system of fuel trucks, with two banking partners, VTB and Raiffeisenbank, participating in the project’s payment corridor. The platform was registered with the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media and cleared for wide distribution, with plans announced to expand Smart Fuel to additional Russian airports by the end of 2021.
Governance and process changes center on embedding payment authorization and accounting on-chain, removing the need for advanced payments or bank guarantees in routine refueling operations, and minimizing administrative involvement during transactions. Operational practice was adjusted so pilots initiate and authorize fueling via a tablet app, which drives on-chain payment requests and harmonizes fuel delivery data with truck accounting records.
The deployment using Hyperledger Fabric on a Blockchain Platform produced explicit operational outcomes reported by the operator, cutting the transaction settlement window from five days to approximately 15 seconds and increasing the stated security of financial transactions. The solution also reduced direct contact between flight crew and ground staff, and was positioned for wider industry distribution by Gazprom Neft leadership.
