| Suprema | Legacy | Suprema FaceStation 2 | Time Clock (Hardware) | HCM | Robinson Solutions | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Gear4music deployed Suprema FaceStation 2 as a Time Clock (Hardware) solution to address contactless secure entry and rapid staff authentication across its UK sites. Robinson Solutions implemented twenty Suprema FaceStation 2 terminals at two sites in Manchester and York, integrating the devices with BioConnect and Paxton Net2 to deliver access control events and time and attendance data into the existing Thinking Software application.
The deployment leveraged Suprema FaceStation 2 IR face authentication as the primary biometric modality, with RFID cards provisioned as an alternative authentication method. Terminals were configured for instant matching to support throughput through turnstiles and speedgates, enabling fast in and out authentication for large staff flows. Configuration emphasized contactless matching and multi-technology card compatibility to support both access control and time attendance workflows.
Operational scope targeted HR, security, and facilities workflows for roughly 450 employees, with initial hardware rollouts at Manchester and York sites and integration patterns applicable to other company locations. Suprema FaceStation 2 devices were connected through the BioConnect platform to broker biometric events to Paxton Net2 for physical access control and to Thinking Software for payroll and time tracking. Integration preserved established time and attendance processes by feeding authenticated events into Thinking Software rather than altering core payroll workflows.
The project prioritized fast authentication speed, ease of installation, and seamless integration, outcomes explicitly cited by the customer as minimizing interruptions to staff movement and preparing buildings for post COVID 19 back to work compliance. The contactless nature of face recognition reduced reliance on fingerprint readers during the pandemic while maintaining compatibility with established card technologies. Robinson Solutions managed device provisioning, system configuration, and integration coordination across the deployed sites.
