In 2018 Genexus implemented GXtest as a Test Automation Platform to support internal regression and CI testing. Genexus co developed GXtest with Abstracta and adopted the tool across its product engineering lifecycle.
GXtest was configured to automate regression test design and maintenance, integrate with continuous integration pipelines, and orchestrate large scale automated test runs. Implemented capabilities included test case authoring, automated execution orchestration, and maintenance workflows that were enhanced during the GXtest v4 work.
Operational coverage included development and QA teams in Uruguay and extended to global testing activities, with GXtest supporting both local and distributed execution. Abstracta reported that GXtest enabled Genexus to execute hundreds of thousands to millions of automated test cases monthly and materially reduced regression maintenance effort after the v4 enhancements.
Governance shifted toward centralized automated test orchestration and CI integrated regression pipelines, reducing the time required to design and maintain regression tests by half as reported. The implementation emphasized continuous execution, maintenance workflows, and scalable test runners within the Test Automation Platform deployment.
