| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Power BI | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2014 | 2018 |
In 2014, Genomic Health implemented Microsoft Power BI as part of an Analytics and BI initiative to centralize enterprise reporting and analytics. The program prioritized creation of an operational data store and an enterprise data warehouse in Microsoft SQL Server, with an ETL strategy to build, develop and load data from Salesforce CRM, NetSuite Financials, Amazon Redshift and other OLTP source systems.
The technical implementation included an ODS and EDW hosted on MS SQL Server, SSIS driven ETL pipelines, and MS BI Stack components such as SSRS and SSAS to support reporting and semantic models. The team lead owned BI enterprise data warehousing architecture, ETL design and development, and worked closely with end users to translate business needs into technical functional specifications. Data modeling and lineage were formalized using ER Studio and MS Visio.
Integrations were explicit and practical, ingesting data from SFDC, NetSuite, AWS S3, MongoDB and other transactional sources, with specific extraction and support workflows from SFDC that pushed data to the Wave Analytics platform via Informatica Cloud. A proof of concept was led to migrate analytic stores into Amazon Redshift and Microsoft Azure cloud, and reporting layers were built on top of those stores using Microsoft Power BI and Tableau. Ingestion and automation tooling included Informatica Cloud, Dataloader, Python, SSIS and Redshift staging patterns.
Governance and rollout were organized through project planning with the project manager and a cross functional team, with the team lead coordinating scope, timelines and deliverables. End users across Finance, Executive, Commercial operations and Lab Operations participated in defining KPI requirements and report functionality to shape dashboard design. Ongoing operations included administration of Tableau, SSRS and database servers covering user management, technical support, troubleshooting and system monitoring.
Reporting design delivered interactive dashboards and analytics using techniques such as data blending, action filters, parameters, sets and complex calculated fields to consolidate sales and operational data across sources. Microsoft Power BI was one of the primary visualization platforms used alongside Tableau and SSRS to produce application specific reports for multiple business units, while the BI architecture and ETL strategy provided the foundation for cloud migration and analytics scale out.

In 2021, Genomic Health implemented Adobe Connect as an embedded conferencing layer on its corporate website. Adobe Connect is deployed to deliver Audio Video and Web Conferencing capabilities for externally facing webinars, interactive sessions, and on-demand recordings accessible directly through the site. The implementation leverages Adobe Connect meeting rooms, content pods for slide and video sharing, screen and application sharing, and session recording to support live and recorded customer and stakeholder engagements.
Deployment is organized as a web-embedded SaaS instance with administration performed through the Adobe Connect console, and session access provisioned via site-based links and registration pages. Operational ownership is centered on marketing and events functions, which manage scheduling, presenter access, and content publishing through Adobe Connect. Governance includes standardized session templates and recording retention procedures to ensure consistent external presentation and control of public-facing conferencing assets.
